Summer Recreation

The Summer Recreation Program at Easter Seals Blake Foundation was designed to provide a typical summer camp experience for children with developmental delays. The program serves school-age children (three to twenty-two) in age-appropriate groups. Recreational, vocational, and independent living skills are emphasized, and students are encouraged to take an active role in the program through choice-making and participation. Learning needs, as outlined in each child's Individual Education Plan, are incorporated into the program in an effort to minimize the loss of skills acquired during the school term.

The program runs annually in Tucson from the latter part of May through the first part of August.

Inclusion:
The Blake Foundation also offers inclusion programming for children ages 6-13. Working with community programs such as Child and Family Resources, and Camp HH, children are enrolled in a typical summer program. Specially trained staff are provided to assist children in total integration. This allows children to learn age appropriate behavior and skills through peer-role-modeling.

Activities:
We offer a variety of programs each summer including the following activities:
Swimming
Arts & Crafts
Sports
Music
Games
Computers
